This month’s guest is Heather Swan, is the author of the poetry collection A Kinship with Ash (Terrapin Books), the chapbook The Edge of Damage (Parallel Press), and the creative nonfiction book, Where the Honeybees Thrive (Penn State Press) which won the Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award. Her poems have appeared in such journals as Poet Lore, Cold Mountain, Phoebe, Raleigh Review, Iris, Midwestern Gothic, The Hopper, and Basalt, among others. Her nonfiction has appeared in Aeon, Catapult, Minding Nature, ISLE, Belt Magazine, Edge Effects and is forthcoming in Terrain. She teaches environmental literature and writing at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The evening will begin with a few poems by each of the hosts, then a reading by Heather, and then a conversation between the three about poetry and how it is helping us meet this moment.
